Anchor House 2024 Annual Appeal

Dear Anchor House Community,

In the midst of these times when homelessness amongst our youth and young people continues to rise, there is an even greater need for compassion and safety. At Anchor House, we offer a safe home-like environment for youth to receive services, develop skills and grow.

A recent report shows that between 2023 and 2024, there was a 31% increase in homelessness in Mercer County; 28% of those who were homeless were school-aged children under 18. In addition, there are too many youth who are at–risk of homelessness and/or in need of basic human services and support.

With the help of our donors, Anchor House can continue to offer Safe Housing, Outreach and Supportive Services to help change the trajectory of lives. Together, we can help ensure that any youth in need has access to a safe, stable home, support they need to thrive, and a future filled with possibilities.

As we forge a path ahead, we look to the future with confidence. Guided by our strategic plan, we strive to achieve the following enhancements and expanded services over the coming years:

• Expand mental health services and establish a clinical department for a broader reach
• Increase street outreach efforts to assist more youth in crisis while helping to prevent youth homelessness
• Provide and identify more affordable housing options including serving more youth in our Emergency Youth Shelter

 
We can’t do any of this important work without a caring community. Your support helps:

• Serve hundreds of youth and their families in need each year at no charge
• Provide a caring support system for youth who have faced trauma, abuse and neglect and often have no place else to turn
• Helps keep the lights on and maintain our facilities at four locations
