Internship Program

Anchor House’s internship Program offers students the unique perspective and hands-on experience that can only be gained through the opportunity to observe and work in a social service agency. During the course of the internship, students study the structure of Anchor House, as well as its facilities, programs and services. In addition to shadowing and working with case managers and other staff members, interns also have direct interaction with residents, out-clients and other agencies. They learn about key issues, emerging trends, and best practices in the field through readings, web-based materials, workshops, and training. Through these experiences, it is expected that students will develop effective helping skills and gain an understanding of community resources.
