Anchor House is busy preparing for our Thanksgiving and Code Blue Event Drives. This year, these items are needed now more than ever.
Each year, Anchor House collects items for Thanksgiving baskets for youth, young adults, and families in our programs. We also host a special Thanksgiving feast for our youth, giving them a chance to gather for a holiday meal and feel like they are part of a family – the Anchor House family.
Last year, our Code Blue events were a huge success, and we plan to host them again this year! At these events, our team distributes essential items like scarves, hats, and gloves at schools and at our Drop-In Center, helping youth stay safe and warm during extreme weather conditions. With rates of students experiencing homelessness doubling in Mercer County schools over five years and tripling in Trenton schools, our School Outreach and Street Outreach teams joined forces to host events at area schools, reaching more youth in need of these items and connecting them with Anchor House’s services.
Thanksgiving Drive
Items that we need include turkeys/small chickens, potatoes/yams (canned or fresh), cranberry sauce, stuffing mix and canned goods. Items can be dropped off at Anchor House (482 Centre Street, Trenton, NJ 08611). For more information contact Jamie at jerkoboni@anchorhousenj.org

Code Blue Drive
We are in need of new or gently used coats, scarves, gloves and socks for our Code Blue events. At Code Blue events, these items are distributed to youth and young adults experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness. It is also a way for the Anchor House team to provide them with information if they need services like our Emergency Youth Shelter or mental health counseling.
